This is really helpful! Do you have any tips on how to layout the panels story wise?

I have multiple sketch books but never thought to use them to the extent that you are using them~ thank you for the advice! I'm planning to start my own comic with another deviant (she's the writer, I the artist haha) and I've never really done a comic before so this is really helpful! Thank you! :3

Do you sketch the thumbnails on Mangastudio too? Or did you import them from somewhere else?

The thumbnails are just resized parts of the actual file, so they're still large in size. I just redraw them on the computer because I can't scan them in.

Fantastic tutorial! Now I need a digitalisation pen. Very expensive in my country, but I need to reach the main line of artists.

I think I will use more then one sketch book, just like you do. It's a very nice idea.

Thank you for this. I'm working on a zombie story myself and browsed various sources about comic making. This here brings me a huge step forward already.

It's either Laffayette comic pro or Anime ace, I can't remember really. But they both look pretty similar c: I'm sure you can get them over at dafont.com

Thanks so much! I've been thinking of trying to become a graphic novelist/webcomic artist/something of this nature after I graduate college. I don't have Manga Studio yet, though, but I'm still in the stages of planning. Good luck with your comic, and thanks again for the awesome tutorial!

Ha, we work in almost the same way!
I don't color my comics, though, I'm terrible at coloring!

You don't know how to use the panel ruler tool? Is quite simple and a big time saver! Look here:

[link]

And since you also work with flat colors, check this free plug-in for photoshop. If you have a bitmap image (like manga studio does), it fills your image automatically with different flat colors:
